Allison Huffman’s Therapeutic Philosophy:
First and foremost I believe in you. I believe the answers to the challenges you face exist within you. Therapy can help individuals, couples or families discover new perspectives, learn effective tools, and regain hope for tomorrow. Reaching out shows strength. I know you can flourish and I hope to be a part of that process.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I provide couples, family and individual therapy for teens and adults.”I have completed several trainings from the Gottman Institute.
Allison Huffman’s Bio:
I am a wife and mother. My marriage has helped me learn the importance of growing in tandem with a life partner. My children have taught me the true joy of parenthood and the challenge of balancing life roles.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold the designation of Mental Health Professional and Child Specialist. I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy through Pacific Lutheran University. I started my private practice in 2012. My work experience includes fulfilling the role of a career counselor at a proprietary college, as a job coach for individuals with disabilities and working within several community mental health sites including Good Samaritan, Greater Lakes, and Sea Mar Community Health Centers.
Limits of Care:
I works exclusively on Saturdays. A client enters into therapy with me with the understanding that if they currently have or develop acute mental health challenges such as being actively suicidal or homicidal, are engaged in a domestic violent situation or experience other challenges I deems beyond the level of care I can provide with my schedule/availability I will provide a referral to another mental health care provider that can better meet the client’s needs.
